When you only have 24 hours in New York, there’s truly no sleep till Brooklyn, so I had to make the most of every moment. The frigid weather caught me off guard, but it didn’t stop me from checking something off my bucket list: visiting Madison Square Garden to watch the New York Knicks play.

Madison Square Garden has long been considered the mecca of basketball. It’s the place where legends have had their best nights, where moments turn into history. I’ve seen it countless times on TV, but being there in person was completely different. The energy hits you the second you walk in—it’s loud, alive, and filled with the raw spirit of playground basketball. I found myself pausing, taking it all in, looking around, and thinking, Wow, I’m really here.

Being in Madison Square Garden reminded me of why I fell in love with basketball in the first place. It wasn’t just a game; it was a moment.

After the game, we took a quick ride up to Harlem for a late dinner at Ricardo Steakhouse. Ricardo’s is a Harlem institution, known for blending upscale steakhouse dining with the neighborhood’s rich cultural energy—and you understand why the moment you walk through the door. The music, the artwork, the people, and, most importantly, the food all came together perfectly. I ordered the New York strip, cooked medium, with mashed potatoes. The steak was tender, flavorful, and exactly what I needed to cap off the night.

This trip gave me memories I’ll never forget, and I’ll be forever grateful for the experience.
