There’s something rewarding about a family spending the holidays together, traveling, and creating memories, especially when the destination is Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Cabo isn’t just a destination, it’s a mood. Desert landscapes collide with deep blue water, tradition meets modern luxury, and every sunrise feels like an invitation to slow down and live well. That spirit guided our days, from sailing past ancient rock formations to long dinners under painted skies. This trip reminded us that time is short, and every moment together needs to be cherished.
As we familiarized ourselves with Cabo, we started off by wandering the marina. Shops filled with handcrafted goods, local art, and pieces that carry a story.
We took our time admiring and understanding the art and meaning behind each piece. The marina is not for everyone; it can be overwhelming with vendors all trying to get your attention to buy from them. It can take away from the peace of just enjoying the scenery, which includes yachts and views of the water
You cannot come to Cabo and not enjoy a day on the water. Day sailing in Cabo San Lucas is a must. Visiting the iconic Arch of Cabo San Lucas is a rite of passage for new visitors.
Cabo San Lucas is one of the world’s premier whale-watching destinations, especially during the winter months, making it a perfect holiday season experience. Humpback whales breached the surface with effortless power, mothers guiding calves as if on instinct, older than time itself.
Thursday evenings in San José del Cabo, a weekly Art Walk unfolds at its own unhurried pace.
The Art Walk is as much about connection as it is about art. Conversations happen naturally with artists, gallery owners, and fellow travelers, each adding depth to the experience. There’s a quiet elegance in how San José del Cabo celebrates creativity with an appreciation for craftsmanship and expression.
Tucked away from the tourist corridors, Flora Farms, a farm-to-table sanctuary, captured everything we love about thoughtful living. We walked the grounds before dinner, herbs growing within arm’s reach, warm lights strung overhead, the air carrying a sense of calm that can’t be manufactured.
The meal itself was honest and soulful. Fresh ingredients. Bold flavors. Nothing rushed, it was a reminder of how we eat, gather, and converse about matters.
Medano Beach is vibrant, social, and alive. Soft sand, clear water, beach clubs pulsing with life, and just enough buzz to keep the energy high without tipping into excess.
If Medano Beach is energy, Palmilla Beach is elegance. The water shimmers in softer tones. Here, the pace slowed. Time felt generous. Palmilla Beach reminded us that refinement often whispers.
Our final night brought us to Sunset Monalisa, perched high above the ocean with panoramic views that felt almost cinematic.
The food was impeccable. The service is attentive without intrusion. Sitting together, reflecting on this trip to Cabo San Lucas, already thinking about how we can top this vacation in 2026.
